The summer of ’67

LOUDER THAN LOVE-The Grande Ballroom Story from Tony D'Annunzio on Vimeo.

When the events in the above video were happening, I was in Junior High School 12 to 15 years old. Detroit had riots on 12th St. in the summer of 1967. No young skinny white kids like myself from the suburbs were allowed to go to Detroit. I remember the Beatles were the Big Junior High thing with Stg. Pepper album. Hendrix, MC5, The Amboy Dukes & Iron Butterfly were the buzz in the Guys 9th Grade Locker Room in 1968/69. I was just hearing about the Woodstock concert in 69 when the child in me was ready to fly High!
