Noir Leather is Michigan’s original alternative emporium and a Motor City icon. For almost 40 years, Noir has served as the hub for Detroit’s counterculture movement, mixing punk, gothic & BDSM aesthetics like no other.

Founded in November 1983 by Keith Howarth, Noir has spanned 4 decades of music and fashion trends with our own unique and slutty style; from our infamous window shows in downtown Royal Oak to our even more infamous Hellbound parties, we’re the store your mom warned you about (and probably also where she picked up her first corset and strap-on!)

Now, since 2021, the studded leather torch has been passed to owner Arbor Laclave as Noir enters a new era as a veteran and black owned business. With our in-store “Noir @ Nite” events, major store renovations under way, and the launch of Noir’s Ecommerce store, Noir is ready to continue its legacy in Detroit’s kink and fashion scene for decades to come. We also pledge our continued support of women, the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC, and anyone else looking for a place to be yourself and let your freak flag fly!...
